Club Report Lets You Listen to Venues Before You Go Out

clubnight techcrunch disrupt hackathon

Evan Jacobs presents Club Report at the TechCrunch Disrupt SF Hackathon.

It’s 9pm on a Saturday night and of course you have your “shirt before the shirt” on. The thing is, you and your crew don’t know where to go.

What are you to do?

One new option: Club Report, one of the hacks developed this weekend at the TechCrunch Disrupt SF Hackathon, an iOS app that lets you eavesdrop on the music at the clubs and bars around town before you decide where to take your shirt.

“It lets you decide which bar or club to go to that night based on what’s playing… It does this by letting [users] listen in to a live audio stream of what’s going on at the clubs around town,” explained Jacobs. “It uses Twilio for the voice and SMS, and CityGrid [Media] for information about places.”

Stay tuned — we plan on covering every single music hack from this thing. Whether we will be able to do that remains to be seen, but that’s the idea.
