Untapped Apps Round Two: Vote for Music App Ideas

Smartphone apps are the new screenplay: Everybody seems to have an idea for one, but few ever see their ideas made.

[Update 1/26 3:36pm ET: Voting is closed on this round -- the results are here.]

To avoid sending all those great ideas down the proverbial drain, and inspired by the democratic process, we at Evolver.fm created a series of polls called Untapped Apps where you can submit – and take credit for — your music app ideas.

These “Untapped Apps” can be designed to run on smartphones, game consoles, web browsers, computers, tablets, televisions, set-top boxes, toaster ovens (eventually), and anything else that can run an app. And they have to have something to do with music — playing, controlling, remixing, warping, sharing, streaming, mashing, or something previously unimagined.

The first round of Untapped Apps included all sorts of great ideas from our staff; this second round adds a few from our readers. Your job is simple: Vote on the below ideas and submit your own ideas for the next round as well (or email untapped apps at echonest dot com). The items in the survey are presented in random order:

Thanks for voting. We’ll keep you posted.

    A FlickTunes-like gesture-based mp3 player for Android

how about an app that can record audio, i.e. voice, humming, creative sounds etc. and model that to the land landscapes app.

the thought is that as your walking to and from where ever, you can make your own sounds to match with that landscape, and then arrange that to music.

Anyone who walks through a landscape will have a different sound based on their own perception,, just a thought..

An app for Android that will let me view my music charts for my band on my Tablet like my iPad using band mates do. Need to be able to annotate so we can quickly change chords or arrangement details while we are rehearsing. Need to be able to create set lists, and change it on the fly. Then I could get rid of the three ring binder.
